About this Blog

The Wonderland Trail is a 93-mile long trail that encircles Mount Rainier.  This blog is an attempt by an aging Baby Boomer to document what he needed to do to get ready to hike the trail.

I started this blog as a mechanism to hold myself accountable to others to get myself up to shape to embark on this journey, but as a number of wise men say, the point of the trip is not the destination, but the journey.  I hope you enjoy my journey, what I find out about myself, and how successful this endeavor will be.

I entitled this blog "Working toward Wonderland" for the largest part of this journey will not be inside the boundaries of Mt. Rainier National Park, but preparing for the trip.  And it will be work.
